This 1978 Chevrolet Corvette belongs to Barclay who works for Ecotek and is a Classsic Corvette Club member; he says fitting a pair of CB-26P's (the 'Vette is 5.75 Litres - 350 cubic inches in the US) has transformed the cars performance, with improvements in responsiveness and acceleration as well as more than 20% fuel savings and improved emissions. "Best thing I ever did for the car" he tells us - ah ha! we hear you cry 'vested interest', hardly independent - quite right, just click here for an independent review by the American Car World section of Street Machine Magazine.. Among other things they said: "The Ecotek device improved the cars round-town running noticeably".

Although the device bleeds some of the vacuum from the servo, the valve does not open fully until there is at least a vacuum of 18" of mercury, the vacuum needed to operate the brake servo is about 5" so there is no chance of the power assistance being affected.
This Bentley Turbo has been fitted with a pair of specially silenced CB-26P's by Royce Service and Engineering, in Ashtead, Surrey. These classic cars do not have conventional servo or breather access and the devices need to be fitted directly in the manifold - a relatively simple drill and tap job is required and you'll need a splitter available from the Help Line at Ecotek - just call 01844 - 212939 and ask for a splitter (available in anodised gold, blue and red and in chrome).
Some Vee motors like the Chevy and the Bentley shown above have one manifold - the Jaguar V12 has two and the CB's are fitted on each end of the equaliser pipe. You can just see each CB-26P in the top centre of each manifold. Because they are on a balancing pipe tuning should be repeated on the first unit once the second has been fitted and tuned. The Ecotek CB-26P is ideal for classic cars as it brings them right up to date with the latest technology to improve emissions and performance - on top of which the fuel savings make it that much less expensive to enjoy classic luxury motoring. For another example of multiple fitting see the BMW M3's page.
