The whole VW and Audi range seem to benefit considerably from the CB-26P - there is a complete section on VW Golfs on this site (click here) which includes rave reviews by Rabbit, VW Motoring and Volkswagen Driver. Not only does the device improve petrol consumption but throttle response and general 'driveability' is improved. It also improves breathing at higher revs as the unit fits at the opposite end to the air intake. Audi owners always comment on how much freer revving the car is after fitting. Great cars made even better!
She said: "I didn't think you could make this car much better but the Ecotek has certainly made a noticeable difference - and I get better economy - I'm very pleased. The car is new but Kinghams of Croydon, who service it, fit the device and don't have any warranty concerns at all".
Here we have a petrol injection engine which might not benefit quite so much from the improvements in fuel air mix but certainly benefits considerably from the swirl created in the inlet manifold. We know that the turbulence created in the induction gasses creates a better suspension of the petrol molecules and thus a cleaner more efficient burn. It has certainly worked for this car which the owner says is noticeably more responsive as well as more fuel efficient.
"Up till now the only real solution to this has been to modify the ECU at a cost of £240. We recently fitted the Ecotek CB2-26P to one of our own 1990 Peugeot 205 GTi 1.6s and tested it on our rolling road it took only 10 minutes to fit and immediately reduced CO emissions throughout the rev range. The car drove much more smoothly, was more responsive and the tick-over rock steady at 1000 rpm". Say no more - thanks guys! Fast Car and REVS have done their own tests on the 205 GTi - click here to read what they say.
