Thanks to Stephen Price for sending us a picture of how simple it is to fit the Ecotek CB-26P and filter to his 2.4 litre Jeep Cherokee Sport (picture on the right). 5 minutes was all it took to slot the Ecotek into the servo vacuum line, secure it with jubilee clips and tune the device.

MPG has improved around town from a eye watering 19 MPG to 22.6 MPG. Motorway driving is now up from 26.7 MPG to a healthy 31.2 MPG

As you can imagine, Stephen is very pleased with his investment in the Ecotek valve and filter.

Trevor Bailey contacted us with these pictures of his Jeep and said: "After fitting a pair of your CB-26P's with PipeX units to my 1995 Jeep Cherokee Ltd. 4.0L yesterday - WOW! what a difference, the acceleration is much smoother, and more responsive throughout the gears, too soon to tell about fuel economy though.

You can't even hear the unit's operating over the sound of the engine with the bonnet closed. As for fitting, it couldn't be easier, Just a matter of locating the hose that runs from the brake servo to the inlet manifold - not a problem on my Cherokee, open the bonnet and it just about hits you in the face, it runs right across the the rear of the engine bay from the servo to the manifold directly below the throttle body - see pic's 1 / 2.

There is ample space just behind the main air hose to fit two units with ease - see pic's 3 / 4, just a matter of cutting the hose slipping some hose clamps over fitting the units and tightening the clamps - easy.

And tuning is easy too, just close them both, start the engine and let it warm up for a while then slowly open the one furthest from the manifold until you hear a slurping/gurgling noise then close the valve until the noise just stops then a further quarter turn (90 degrees) clockwise, and while holding the upper part of the unit screw the locking ring below up anti-clockwise until tight.

Repeat this for the second device and fit the PiperX filter's if purchased. Job done, now go and enjoy your jeeps new found power and economy."

Many thanks Trevor - glad you like them!

Paul Wilson sent us these pictures of his excellent Skyline:

"Just sending you some Pictures that I have taken of my SKYLINE GTE 1989.......I am pleased with the performance ie..108 miles used to cost me £15.00 Now the same 108 miles cost me £12.57 (not bad) that's at a steady 80 to 100 mph....note on track ?

My car is a single cam 2lts with auto transmission.......the car is faster in all gears with better pick up.

I have fitted one on my son's ford Escort si1800 zetek 130bhp and I will send pics later and let you know how it is - many thanks Paul Wilson"

Well thank YOU Paul - nice motor! NB: this is the non-turbo version - although the device improves the off turbo running of later Skyline's, particularly throttle response, the CB-26p does little to improve the economy in Turbo versions if driven hard.

Talking about Turbo versions 'Skyracer' sent us these and said:

"Attached some pics of the CB-26P fitted to my Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T (type M) for its full name! Any way its the single turbo 2.5ltr 6cyl engine, the RB25DET.

The fitting of an Ecotek valve to the Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T is such a must for any other owners out there, all you need is a Stanley knife to cut the pipe, no tools are needed and it really will only take 10mins to complete.

Better still it will have a positive effect on your wallet, get used to visiting your local Shell garage for that must have Optimax Super Unleaded far less.

Have always waved the flag of support for Ecotek, using their products on previous cars, I had no apprehension in fitting the valve to my Skyline - as before...... a successful product."

Great pictures (click to expand) thanks Will (formerly Saxracer - when he had the device on his Saxo and loved it) glad you're still a fan - now you're even quicker!
